Credit Analyst Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing and potential loans by reviewing and analyzing financial statements and related material for existing and prospective borrowers.

  • Prepare credit approval documents and make recommendations to management regarding lending decision on new or refinance loans.

  • Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information of borrowers, including report services, credit bureaus, the Risk Management Association, industry trends and other companies.

  • Prepares quality control reports in accordance with company's policy.

  • Evaluate and analyze credit history, income levels and assets/liabilities; calculate debt- to-income and loan-to-value ratios.

  • Responsible for reviewing and addressing items involving loan product, credit, occupancy and employment verifications and order pay off statements.

  • Provide written loan approvals and modify/restructure existing loans.

  • Analyze necessary data to run risk management models.

  • Monitor existing investment portfolio performance.

  • Request action from Disclosure Desk and other internal partners as required by valid changes in circumstances.

  • Collect and analyze document to clear lender's all pre-closing & funding conditions.

  • Update loan origination system.

  • Maintain various financial databases.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of both originating systems for 1st mortgage & lines of credit and other home and commercial loan product.

  • Register Loans with MERS system and do the post-closing quality control.

  • Perform other financial and professional duties as assigned.



Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a closely related field.

  • Proficiency in using software tools to conduct quantitative analysis.

  • Proficiency in using spreadsheet accounting and database programs.

  • Possess knowledge of financial institution operations, policies and procedures, and credit systems.

  • Possess strong problem-solving, analytic, organizational, research, and decision-making skills.

  • Possess professional communication skills to provide quality customer services.
